Triple Crown and 4x Grand Master Pointing Retrievers
4XGMPR-TC (4X Grand Master Pointing Retriever-Triple Crown) is the highest title a pointing Labrador retriever can earn in the American Pointing Labrador Association (APLA). In order to earn this title, a dog must pass the Triple Crown Invitational, which is held every fall and is open to qualifying dogs. To qualify for an invitation to the Triple Crown, a dog must have earned their 4xGMPR title and passed at least two Master level tests in that qualifying year. To earn their 4xGMPR title, the dog has to have passed the APLA Master test at least 8 times. Not all our members run in hunt tests, but those who do have done very well.
Our young Club now has numerous 4xGMPR’s, several 4xGMPR-TC’s, several AKC Master National Hall of Fame dogs, and even two dogs in the APLA Hall of Fame! APLA Titles:
APLHOF – The dog has been inducted into the APLA Hall of Fame by earning enough points through APLA titles and passes and/or through progeny who have earned APLA titles.
4xGMPR-TC – Has earned a Qualifying (Passing) Score at the APLA Triple Crown (APLA’s national level event). The number after TC designates the number of times the dog has passed the Triple Crown
4xGMPR – The highest title in the APLA hunt test circuit and a requirement to be invited to compete at the Triple Crown
GMPR – Grand Master Pointing Retriever (1.5X = 3 Master passes, 2X = 4 Master passes, etc. to 4X =8 Master passes)
MPR – Master Pointing Retriever
APR – Advanced Pointing Retriever
